It is a solid supplement, but keep your expectations realistic. I’ve tested a [ballistic blanket](https://www.rtstactical.com/collections/ballistic-blanket) at the range before, and while they eat up 9mm and .45 ACP rounds easily, they aren't stopping rifle rounds. They’re basically big sheets of Kevlar. I keep mine in the car seat pocket now. It’s way faster to grab and shield a passenger with it than trying to strap on armor during a panic.
