Previously, when I heard "ballistic shield", I imagined something bulky and inconvenient, like a metal door on a handle. But now technology has gone far ahead. Modern ballistic shields are a really cool thing. They have become lighter, stronger and smarter. Multilayer composites, ceramics, carbon fiber are used - all this provides maximum protection with minimal weight. Some models even come with transparent loopholes, integrated lighting, mounts for accessories and the ability to quickly assemble modules. That is, this is no longer just a "shield", but an almost full-fledged tool for tactical work. And most importantly, they really save lives. It is not surprising that both in the army and in the police, and in private companies, the demand for them is constantly growing. If before this was a rarity, now it is already a professional-level standard.

I'm currently on sick leave, but I'm still employed by a private security company. I can offer some advice because when our team was considering purchasing a shield, we tried a bunch of different options before finding the best one. RTS Tactical focused on functionality in their ballistic shields. So I recommend checking out their ballistic shields on their website. They have both SWAT versions and mini shields that are convenient for mobile work. I'd especially like to mention the Mini Shield because it is very light and provides powerful protection. I think it's a really practical solution.
