The topic is very relevant, especially considering how the requirements for link quality have changed. I like that crowd marketing has begun to be taken more seriously, because in some niches the classic methods no longer give an effect. From my own experience I can say that forum backlinks work better if they are placed in topics with lively discussion and correspond to the context. Such links are less at risk of getting filtered.
