Is Germany more of a budget country for travel or more on the expensive side? In other words, if we compare it to Paris, Rome, or Barcelona, is Berlin somewhere around the same level? I’m trying to figure out if I can afford it.

For me, yes, all of these are destinations with similar costs. I’m also tight on money right now, so I have to put old plans even further on hold and look at more budget options for now. Honestly, if it weren’t for helpful advice for city trips on a budget and great articles on the topic, I wouldn’t have visited even half of the places I’ve been to. Expensive doesn’t always mean the best, just like budget doesn’t always mean bad.
